Regarded for their versatility as an artist, Julia Bokunewicz (she/they/he) is in high demand for their work as a performer and educator in the greater Philadelphia region. A graduate of the music education department of the Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University as well as having their Master’s in Education from Gratz College, they are currently a voice technician with the Philadelphia Boys and Girls Choirs and Chorale and have experience within the School District of Philadelphia teaching general music, choir, and theatre to students in Kindergarten through eighth grades.


As a performer, they are currently a core member of two of Philadelphia’s premiere ensembles, The Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia and Vox Ama Deus, and has sung with the Princeton Singers and the Philadelphia Symphonic Chorus. Julia is involved with performance at various religious institutions, contemporary festivals and companies, and opera companies in the Philadelphia region. During the weekdays, Julia works as a fine gardener for Enliven Planters LLC. They are incredibly excited to return with the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia as an Alto Section Leader and Soloist for the 2022-2023 season!
