Madeleine Mackin is a passionate musician whose work includes singing, songwriting, teaching, and more. In addition to leading the alto section in the Mendelssohn Chorus, she also sings with the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir. On Sundays, she sings at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill as an alto section leader and as a soloist leading the family-focused service. She also teaches private voice, piano, and ukulele lessons to children and adults with a focus on music theory, composition, and creativity. 


Formerly in Washington, DC, Madeleine sang as a professional choir member and as a cantor at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in Dupont Circle. During the 2018 and 2019 holiday seasons, Madeleine formed a caroling quartet and performed at the District Wharf and various private events. Madeleine has performed her original songs and covers throughout the DMV, including venues in Adams Morgan, the District Wharf, Arlington and Tenleytown. Her debut single, “Singing to Myself,” was released in February, 2019.


Madeleine has a Bachelor of Music in Composition with honors from Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music. In 2018, she was inducted into the Society of Pi Kappa Lambda and she received their composition award for her exceptional originality and skill in music composition.
