Miriam's embracing leadership played a pivotal role in guiding ANNA Crusis through important conversations about inclusivity, leading to the choir's transformation from the ANNA Crusis Women's Choir to the ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir. She collaborated closely with the group to ensure that their programming, policies, and identity reflected a more expansive view of gender, welcoming trans and non-binary singers into their midst.

In addition to her work with ANNA Crusis, Miriam serves as the Music Director at the Unitarian Congregation of West Chester, where she fosters a sense of unity through music. She also contributes her expertise as a board member of GALA Choruses, aiding in the advancement and support of LGBTQ+ organizations nationwide.

As an artist, Miriam has established herself as a performer with acclaim in both folk and LGBTQ+ circles. Her music career includes recording and co-producing eight CDs, some of which have received national recognition, showcasing her talent as both a singer-songwriter and recording artist.

Miriam's academic journey includes a degree from Temple University and further education at the Petrie School of Music. She has also conquered her stage fright by mastering the accordion and banjo, performing with them publicly.
