Sophia Santiago


Described as a singing actress, lyric soprano Sophia Santiago has performed as a soloist and chorister across the New York metropolitan area. She studied voice with Faith Esham at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. During her time there, she performed Mozart opera roles Pamina from Die Zauberflöte and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.


After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Sophia studied for her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance at Manhattan School of Music under voice teacher Shirley Close. Recently Sophia won first place at the Spazio e Musica competition in Vicenza, Italy and performed a recital of Monteverdi, Vivaldi, and Strozzi with baroque ensemble I Musicalli Affetti headed by Fabio Missaggia in Vicenza and Modena. She was a District winner of New York in the Laffont competition of 2023 and recent engagements include the American Bach Soloist Academy of  2023 and singing as a soloist in Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles with the LOTUS project. Outside of music, she enjoys baking, hiking, and going to see performances of new works.
